After a nice ride back from work, I peeped in the fuel tank of my Model 30 to check I have enough juice left for tomorrow morning.
Fuel level fine, but then I thought I saw a square piece of card laying at the bottom. First thought was the tank liner is coming adrift in very neat chunks, but when I got the torch onto it, it turns out to be a Tenner, folded in half! A ten quid note? How did that get there? If I'd dropped it I would have known about it, as I'm very frugal.
I've only had this bike a few months and about 3500 miles, did you leave me a tip at the IJR perhaps? for me making the effort?
Is it a petrol station promotion that I didn't know about? If so I need to know which brand so I can continue to be a loyal customer.
Is it a previously unheard of lead replacement additive?
Is it an anti mugging ploy, like money belts under your clothes?
If I mix the right brands/grades can I make it happen again?
Please tell me, I promise I've done a forum search, read my manuals and parts books, asked the bloke down the pub, looked in Christians Archives-it isn't even there!
And finally, how should I best preserve it? It's currently hanging up to dry in the garage.

Common enough when unleaded was introduced. People used a pound note as
the platinum in the security strip was said to help prevent valve seat damage.
Now it's a tenner.
There's inflation for you.
