Hi, blokes and blokesses  Iv'e just bought  a Yamaha XV 535, not sure why, bit of a whim but it we keep me busy till I snuff it, Much renovation to do, any help appreciaed Main love is for a CCM R35 which I drool  over, any help or advice will be much apps. John.

Sorry, never owned one. I have a couple of pals that have had them in the past though. They make nice bobbers

hi i have had a 1991 535 brought it as a £50 non runner used it for 4 years
the main problem i had to deal with were gummed up carbs the sliders were stuck solid with old petrol i used cellulose thinners to free them   - the diaprams are lots of money however i managed to get one for nothing
i had a regulator/rectifyer burn out - another common problem as mine was located next to the exhaust box not all of them are. the key is to make sure all the connection are good and the heat sink surfaces are clean about £50 for a new one
i also had a starter clutch go -these are very common problems and expensive about £250 i was very lucky and got 3/4 of an engine from ebay for £10.50 including an almost new starter clutch
