Unusual thumper

Hi all,
      I was in the local bike shop today and the lad behind the counter (who himself rides an XT600E) brought in his wifes bike for MOT. He asked if I wanted to try it out. What a blast and a noisy one at that, courtesy of a Leo Vince open pipe. Anyone know what it is? I had never seen one before and certainly didnt know that this particular company made them at the time.
Its a 52 Plate and there certainly wont be any more made.

I do some training at Riders Edge in Builth Wells. They have half a dozen of these for the trainees to get used to bigger bikes after a CBT. They vibrate like a road drill, you can hear a gear change from several miles away, the clutch is like a hair trigger and they are an absolute Blast to ride!! Weirdly, like half a Harley but about a quarter as sophisticated.
Ride or buy one (at the right money) if you get a chance.

Oddly enough, they were the bike that buell produced because Harley made them, as I remember it they made a loss on every single 1 built, yet they were the longest running and biggest sellers, can't remember the a teal sales figures but can look them up if anyone's interested.

There's a waiting list for them on the uk buell forum, as they were never officially sold here, some people just privately brought them over. Is (afaik) basically the same engine as the twin used in the xb range but without the rear cylinder, basically half an engine.

I bet E.B. Enjoyed that! There's a pic somewhere of a skip full of bikes, dunno how near finished they were but they look pretty much complete, when buell closed they just threw them away rather than finch and sell them or sell the parts. Doesn't make sense to me.
