after spending most of sunday afternoon glued to the telly, like many others with eurosport i saw a review of the welkom race when Rossi raced the yamaha for the first time. This got me thinking about peoples other favourite moments in racing,be they for good racing or some other reason and what they might be. I'll start with a few of mine.
Watching Barry Sheene race Phil Read (norton vs Augasta) at the goodwood revival the year before sheene died.
Being at donnington two years ago waiting for the motogp race to start, and hearing the words 'stoner has changed onto slicks' when it blatantly was never going to stop raining. Standing with a bunch of duke / stoner fans did somehow make this funnier, and then watching him get lapped.
Cant remember which circuit it was (probably italy somewhere) but watching superbikes on the telly and watching Frankie Chile come from 11 seconds behind to beat a factory duke on a 2 year old machine.
anyone else got some fond memories?
