hi folks, seems like i missed everybody at dragon. I had a walk around but there were groups of thumpers everywere and not knowing any faces in the TC we gave up and went to the pub.(well both of them actualy) We got there late due to a breakdown so ended up with a pretty poor camping spot but after an hour or two in the pub that didnt matter in the slightest.. Yet another great dragon,  Hope to see you soon,  regards steve

Bugger, would have been good to get all the TCers together. Perhaps next time we can have a designated meet-up... I'll be in the bar at 12.300 carrying The Times and wearing a carnation in my tweed jacket's lapel  ;) :D :D

Nice photographs

The picture of the Vincent is interesting:  The registration PUB means it belongs to long time rider who used to write for "Motorcycle Sport" under the initials PUB.  At the time known as Peter Bickerstaff.  He underwent gender re assignment some time ago and still attends rallies.  Peter (now known as Jacqueline I think!) often wrote about the Dragon.

Motorcycle Sport was known as the quality monthly, but a standing joke amongst journalists was your photographs had to be very bad to get published.  Often grainy black and white images out of focus.  However it was a good read.

This years rally sticker is a copy of the first cloth badge, not ideal to be reproduced in vinyl.

My ride home was very wet with little or no brake efficiency due to the rain on my extrenal band brake.  However I still will be thinking about the 2012 event come October.

Hey guys, I've got some tragic Dragon news.

Some may have heard sirens on Saturday morning... Well there was an accident at the site entrance. A dragoneer lost the back-end of his bike going over the wooden bridge. Things went from bad to worse and to cut a long story short, he went down the road on his face and broke both arms! 3 hours surgery on his mush and 1.5 on his arm.

How do I know this?? The chap in question was my Good Samaritan from last year, the guy who found my rucksack and posted it to me. We've [sort of] kept in touch through Facebook and his wife has told me his sad story.

I remember seeing a sign on that bridge giving warning to "keep right" which SteveH thought was because of an oil spill. Is that right?? Can't remember if I saw the sign before or after hearing the siren though. Anywho, I for one wish him a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear that Pat. Pass on the best wishes of all us TC Dragoneers.

The marshals told us that someone had gone down and to take it easy on the bridge. It did look as slippy as hell so I thought their advice a bit redundant... but obviously not  :(

Any news on how he's faring?

I dont remember them directing us over to one side when we arrived, but they definately were when we walked down to the road, which was after hearing the ambulance. My guess is that the 'oil' I noticed, which had been roughly covered in sand, was actually fuel from his bike.

We arrived about 10.45/11.00am and were told to keep to the right because the bridge was slippery,no mention of an accident.
