What was that film again....

Hi All

Was having a blather the other day and was remembering a film from 1980's? 1990's - thought I knew its name now seems I had it confused with a rather crappy ITV sex fest prog.

So the film was about a disabled guy (CP?) who was in a sheltered workshop making garden gnomes.  He flips and smashes them all to bits and heads off in to the wilds of London(?).  lands in a bikers bar and at one point thumps the end of a pool cue, spoiling the shot, causing said biker to round on him and the guy in the W/Chair to say "What are you going to do, break my legs!?!".  At another point they (the bikers) turn up with him on the back of one of the bikes at the sheltered workshop place.  One of the bikers hands a spliff down a line of oldies doing painting and finally looks at one of the pics and signs off with "You need more purple in your life"

Seem to remember that it finishes with the guy in the wheel chair doing a massive mural on a wall one night with the help of the bikers etc.

Anybody recognise it from my description and can tell me what it was called.

I have thought for years it was "Tropic of Ruislip" but that is a Leslie Thomas book that was made into a crap series by ITV in the 70's

It is Deptford Graffiti starring Nabil Shaban - now just need to find it and realise it was as good as I rememeber

Found a clip on youtube - where he spray paints a copper in an attempt to get arrested - to be told that "I am a copper not a social worker now bugger off'

Well done on the film front. But, forgive me for being so forward Rog, but have you any whole bikes that work?

In a similar vein, I remember seeing a great shot (from a helicopter I think) of a trials riders ((Martin Lampkin?) riding a trail over a moor. It was really evocative and I'd love to see it again. I think it was on a Castrol film that Duke were marketing in the early days of Duke Videos. Any ideas of what film it was from?
