Nice shots!

We see the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight ( or parts of it) fly over our house once or twice a month during 'the season' as we live 10 miles from Coningsby where they are based - everything stops for the Lanc.  We used to get the Red Arrows too when they were at Cranwell but they've now moved to Scampton. The Chinooks and the old A10 tankbusters used to come over literally at roof top level - you could see the pilot! I have yet to see the Vulcan flying again - amazing plane, so big but the crew section is no bigger than a  garden shed!  I saw the last one leave Waddington when they were decommissioned.
Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional!

A few weeks ago I stopped at the roadside cafe next to RAF Waddington. On the counter they were discussing a picture in a magazine. This is new  bomber that's due to fly in soon. This is a full size thing that looks like the stealth bomber. That may not be unusual but this don't have a pilot Its controlled from here and can do missions in Afghanistan  Clever stuff

Used to live 2 miles from scampton as a kid, when times were less security conscious, standing with just a chain link fence watching 3 wings of vulcans scrambling. no ear protectors just 9 aircraft full throttle plus afterburners. magic for an 11 year old.
Father-in-law used to clean them at one time.
If any one has a chance to go to East Kirkby when they taxi there lanc GO I went once at night and in the pouring rain seeing the exhausts glowing red in the dark and the plain shuddering in front of me has to be seen. God knows how lucky I am not to have flown in one over germany.
East kirkby often have bike run outs which combine the lanc taxiing out on the runway.
red arrows have been grounded for a few weeks due to ejector seat problems but are now flying again. Usually watch them over winter from my parents house, scampton is closing as a base and they are moving to waddington but still using scampton airspace to practice in.
