Newletter....Please read.
« on: July 16, 2010, 05:32:47 PM »
Following the recent reshuffle in the club, I've foolishly volunteered to take over the newsletter!  The plan is that GC will produce one more paper newsletter to inform the members who receive a paper copy of the proposed change to an on-line only newsletter and I will take over from September.

I'm hoping to produce 4 newletters a year - March, July, September, December starting with something like 8-16 pages but this may grow depending on how it goes. I intend to use a similar basic format to the current newsletter, news, rallies, shows, projects etc.

I NEED input from YOU!  Your photos, rally reports, project updates, travellers tales and anything else you think the rest of the club would enjoy. Please either PM or email your stuff to me and you may see your name in print!!

Cheers
           Steve

PDF format only. That was my only condition of taking the job.   I used to do the newletter for the Cossack Owners Club and have spent far too much of my life chasing up printers, filling envelopes and licking stamps! ( the kids used to be great for that but they've grown up now and want more than £1 for licking 300 stamps....kids today eh?) PDF is also MUCH cheaper for the club!

Aye Steve,

Good! Will try to oblige.

Preferred formats?

Sorry, I know it's late but spending a wee while battering it down, only for you to gnash your teeth in angst because of the format, won't help any of us! Comprende?  :-X

Thank you for giving it a whirl.

My regards, Bill.

might be an idea to stick adobe on the TC website for members to download?
or a link to where to it?
and maybe a few lines on use?

There may be some confusion here. PDF will be used for the final delivery of the newsletter, in theory all you should have to do is click a link to the newsletter and assumming you have the plug-in installed you will be able to read the newsletter. I will provide links to the plug-in to make that easier.

If you want to write an article for the newsletter, you do not need to supply it in PDF format, SteveC may have a preference but in theory text files, word documents, fag paper almost anything should be sufficient.
