Aye Richard,

Looks about right to me! ???

A seized 1951 Rapide(?) last ridden in 1955 and un-molested, but dry stored since, made £30,000 about 2 - 3 weeks ago on Fleabay! Surface rust and various bits of excrescence (mmmmm self-moderation! ;) ) were in evidence.

If you require a cheaper fix or something to LUST over (calm down 002! ::) ) then may I recommend a copy of MSL May 2010 issue? Cathcart article on a Godet Egli-Vincent 1332cc Sport machine!!!!! I'm afraid this has left me slavering! :P :P :P However, the price starts at EU50,000! It will also probably have a better rate of interest than any bank account and you can enjoy it! ;D ;D ;D ;D

You might also enjoy the road test of the Norton 961, with the Fergie gearbox (remember Hesketh???????).

Toodle pip, Bill.

Ahhhh...I had one of those...yes really!.......the steib s501 i'm referring to  ;D....stuck on the side of a RE Meteor Minor......it was the best chair I've ever had, hydraulic break....so easy to set up....looked fantastic....sold the plot to a bloke in wolverhampton......rode it over for him......he told me to hang on........took the chair and fittings off the bike.....said 'there you are.....you can go home on that now....I only wanted the steib'.......my poor old enfield felt SO unloved that day.....but i got the full whack....so i was a happy bunny.
