Had a crap morning?
« on: March 30, 2010, 08:45:17 AM »
Guarantee I've just had a worse one  :'(
Yesterday we had dramas with the mortgage broker, their fault not ours but it's us who need the deal to happen on time.. >:(
Never mind, a fresh day this morning I thought...
Went downstairs, put kettle on, looked round to see the Skorpion had blown over in the night  :o :'(

Initial (quick) assessment, smashed front indicator, smashed rh mirror, oh sh1t, bent top fairing mount where the mirror bolts to it resulting in a mashed top fairing in that section  ::) :'(

Just emailed Grahams for parts prices to see whether or not I need to fork for the (large) excess and lose my no claims.

crap crap crap crap crap!!!!

Too late mate, I'm at work and having a brew while the cycling kit dries off on the radiator...
Just waiting for the snow now!
Mind you, I've planned ahead and brought the mountain bike so snow is ok, I just need the howling gale to swing round and give me a tail wind on the way home..... well you've got to hope!

Aye Smudge,

Blowing a hoolie here all night, luckily the hedges take the sting out of it, but all the c**p from the main road comes over the house etc. About 2" lying snow and then spent 15 minutes at the road end waiting to get onto the A9 west. From our place through to Stirling between 2" - 6" lying snow and only single lane on the dual carriageway. Road from Cumbernauld out over the top to Carluke was dire as usual, gale, flooding and similar amounts of snow all the way. Two hours for a 70 mile journey. Same on the way back but the wind has picked up and I don't envy your return trip tonight over the Forth bridge, they may not have let you come across. Gusting 60mph + tonight and a further 30cm of snow likely. Go canny and I hope your safe when you read this.

My regards, Bill.

Yeah back safe, I'm still commuting by train/pushbike (to keep the MZ fresh and shiny amongst other good reasons!  ::) ) a slight delay on the Edinburgh side of the bridge but other than that the only proble coming home was my unfit attempts to cycle uphill into a screaming side/headwind  :o
Home fine though and still no sign of the white stuff here, just lots and lots and lots of rain... will be interesting to see what it does later/tomorrow though as the Met boys and girls were 80%+ certain of white at all levels, mind you, that probably means just rain then  ;)

No reply yet from Grahams ref parts price/availability, I'll probably give them a bell tomorrow. It may be I'm cheaper and easier just getting the top fairing to a good repair shop once the moving house saga calms down. Still having dramas with our mortgage providers inability to provide a timely service.  >:(

Your day can't have been as bad as that poor girl who died in the coach crash in Lanarkshire... sounds like a very poor driving decision given the conditions. Very sad.

Never for a moment considered it was, or suggested it  ???
I imagine her family are having a worse time than we can imagine now.  :(
Don't know enough about the detail to comment on the drivers conduct.
