I'm guessing the fact that he takes such care of his photos is why he seems to have made them non-shareable via Flickr. I can't get the image location thing to work at all  :(

I'm just being lazy, if I wanted to put one of the piccies on this site I could just screengrab the whole screen, trim out the photo in photoshop, upload it to Flickr and do it that way...

Yes the links work, but he has opted to reserve all rights to the photos so when I try to copy the image's address to use it in this forum it just gives me a standard (useless) URL.

So... I did the screen grab/photoshop/flickr option:

Aye GC,

But then if you were taking images of swanky cars, with panache, you might want to retain the rights!  ;D ;D Yous ken pal? ;)  I sense an article in 'Classic Car' coming on, or the Reliant Scimitar Owners Club august journal.

Scimitar

Bon voyage, the Beaujolais run awaits you! ::)

 :-[   Secret's out...!

Ah well!  I miss the campsies a wee bit Bill...  I'll be back eventually.

Forks are built now, will get the yokes cleaned up at the weekend and hopefully back on the road soon.  However, I will not be so wastful as to have two bikes taxed at once!  Lest the politicians think they have the upper hand on my hard-earned! ;D

Cheers for now, be good

Aye Andy,

There is a strange irony to this ongoing banter and tale!  ???

My daughter, has been offered today, a Reliant Kitten for 'refurbishment'! The lure being that they can be good fun in hill climbs and sprints when they qualify under the 750cc Car Club rules. Austin 7 motor! Alternatively you can slot an Escort MK1 motor in! ;)

The proverbial off a chrome ********! ;D

Do I?

Please put your cases.

Yours, 'Guillable'.  :-X

Hi Bill,

I dont know much about the Kittens, other than they have a daft name!

But I am enamoured by the easy repairability of fibreglass.  Is the chassis ok?

Its not really an austin7 motor this is it??!!  I thought it was reliants own?  The cylinder heads are apparently a pure bastard to get off, although Mike Cowie at Blane Precision in Killearn has jigs to remove them, and he has had a few Kittens (road cars) for many years.  He sings their praises, and also removed the wavyness from the scimitar heads.

I trust him implicitly.  Not cheap, not fast, but very very good.  Also did all my norton stuff...  Ex RR.  Nuff said.

Best thing about the motor is that its all ally, and weighs nothing.

Maybe a post on the reliant forum (Scimitarweb).  This thread may set your juices goin:

Drop me a line offlist if this is all getting too "non-thumper".  Admittedly, they're still odd vehicles, so we probably wont cause any offence!

I say "YES, go fur it"!  Let me know....
