They are really very pretty and hang together well.  Price means that if you buy one you will love it - darling you know that £13k I spent on a bike - well it is sh1te

Will be interested to find out what they are like, they are taking a different route to Bloor, he avoided the nostalgia and trading on heritage until Triumph was re-stablised, these look like a new take on an old Norton.

See Crighton has left the racing team, he seems to do that a lot.

Aimed at the HD wallet, Brit bike dream.

Al the best to them

I hadn't.  Any idea?  Did he spit the dummy?  He is pretty good, but maybe sometimes comes across as having a bit of a chip on his shoulder....

And those bikes are very dear! Different market from the (new) Bonnie I suppose...  Not (yet) a mass market.

Bloor was very clever, but he did not have the history of 15 years of:

"Triumph are coming again" or "Triumph have an american owner now" or "Triumph are building a V8 superbike, released in about 9 months" "Triumph have a cruiser on the drawing board" "Triumph are coming back with a .....

The name has been dragged thru the mud for a while, and while those bikes are not really my cup of tea, they are pretty.  Similar to the Bonnie, and Monster, but with a hefty price tag...

Its supposed to be a well enginered bike and the tests are encouraging but in my eyes they should stop trying to make bikes that look like the old Nortons Apart from the old singles I never thought they were a nice looking bike anyway as a standard Norton.

Eye of the beholder and all that.  I thought the Commando Interstate was one of the best looking machines ever made, certainly better than the Bonnie and up there with the Le Mans.

We can agree not to mention the Hi-Rider.

I just feel that towards the end of the British bike building they  were sort of trying to make an old bike look modern,  like with fitting disc brakes and electric starts, but the basic bike was old rattled leaked oil and as they never sold enough to keep the company going must be true.

Ahhh.  I thought we were discussing the appearance.

"Apart from the old singles I never thought they were a nice looking bike anyway as a standard Norton".

Can't argue with what you write about the age of the engine though, and certainly the early disc brakes were pretty poor, especially when they chromed the discs.  A particularly retrograde step was the fitting of forks without gaiters - and don't even start me on the advantages of Earles forks.

MZs and Beemers, hard to beat.  Except for the ugliness where the Norton was definitely prettier, and as for the Italians..............

Plenty of room for retro look bikes though.  All Harleys sell well (why ??), Bonnevilles, the two Ducatis (Sport and GT) the new Guzzi etc.  Personally I prefer the real thing but understand that it can't be everybodies cup of tea.

HI all i loved my triumph thruxton but was looking on an american web site and found this....they are just too expencive ££££££

http://www.triumphperformanceusa.com/?main_page=page&id=14

i dont like the ohlins forks either, the style is nice but i wouldnt buy one. the problems that will come is that people will look at the engine and think its the same as the old one. Alot did the same with the new bonneville and they ask questions like how often should i top up the oil? "should i get a tray", "why do you need a tray sir",  "to catch the oil it drops over nite so you can top it back up"???

I think they look really good, hand together well.  As for th lump looking like the old one - pretty hard to make a unique lump.  Bloor did it his way - but now they have the triple in the modern bikes and twin in the looky-likey bikes.

Norton do have the rotary if they want 'different' but remember how much money the Nemisis ate to look different.

Loved the look of the old Fastback, and these seem to have an element of that with a new spin.

If I had the money I would love to have one.
