You archetypal Scotsman! My suggestion to save the TC money, and possibly the planet, is that you and the other Luddites will have the one paper copy forwarded to you as soon as it's finished with. This will also save the TC postage and rejuvenate the Royal Mail*. I, on the other hand, will have an electronic copy please!

Boyd

* this may not save the Royal Mail as there will possibly only be two or three recipients.

I'm a couple of days behind with this and it's going to the printers on Thursday. Some of you have been saying lately that you'd prefer to only view the newsletter online. Can you tell me if you don't want a paper copy and I can adjust the print order accordingly.

Cheers
GC

I'll go with the on-line copy this time please GC, easy enough to print off if neccesary,

Furry John
Here I go again!!

Boyd!

That is a fabulous idea.

And I received a letter the other day, which hadn't had the stamp franked.  Plus it was a 1st Class Large one.

(heh!  Chortle chortle!)

So I have steamed this off, and am saving it so that when the one paper copy lands on my door mat, I can post it on for free.

And not increase my carbon footprint reading online...    ;)

cheers

In this day and age of PC and HSAW this sort of activity is obviously bordering on the illegal!
Licking previously licked stamps has all sorts of hazards associated with it, just imagine, Boyd may have licked it!, or worse.....GC!.....the correct proceedure to adopt is to wear a pair of those latex gloves (must have them by the shedload at your workplace Andy) and some protective eyewear (also available at Andy's workplace, I'm using the term WORK somewhat loosely here) then, obtain a PritStick ( obtain this prior to donning gloves and goggles....don't want to appear any more of a wierdo than you already are when you shuffle round Smiths looking for the glue section)
apply pritstick to reverse of stamp and fix to envelope.......dispose of pritstick safely (to avoid cross infection during second use), remove protective gear (unless you have some other immediate pervy use for them)....proceed in an orderly manner to post office (on a non strike day) and post worn out TC newsletter to Boyd.....who....not realising a pritstick has been used (and assuming the stamp has again not been franked) will get a horrible taste in his mouth when trying to reuse.
yes, it's raining outside, yes i'm bored, yes i'm wasting my time typing drivel on the TC forum. pip pip

Actually, I believe it is. Something to do with obtaining postal services by deception.  There again, knowing how obscure the postal laws can be you can probably even get a free one way ticket to Australia if you plead guilty and actually get someone to listen.  :-\

The new stamps (with little oval cut outs) are supposed to have steam proof glue (which isn't) and rip if you use dental floss on them. I'm betting this cost millions to develop in order to save thousands. ::)

Shall be go back to camping stoves and Landrovers now ?  ;D

Hmm, I like having the paper copy as it makes for a jolly good read whilst cogitating in my potting shed. It will also be added to my collection of the august magazine on my shelf, where they lie in repose next to my collection of Monthly Cycle magazines (produced by a now defunct bike club of mine). When the interweb gets switched off, I will still be able to read about the TC exploits!

Incidentally, you pick up more information and spot more errors on hard copies of print compared to to looking at the screen. I rest my case.
