Pat.  STOP!!!! Look to the tin - are you using Pilkinworths Patent Goose Fat or just common or garden goose fat, OR (heaven forbid) French la graisse d'oie?

Grinding your rim with ordinary grease before offering up the Clesby Falnge Piece Adapter for full insertion may cause a build up of secondary entangled quarks, which can result in a total malfunction of the Parkinson frag spocket.  Pilkinworths has added flembluid and heat modified quaternary cheese pips to avoid this.

I only ask as I would hope the lil Squirrels continue being red and not fade to grey at the thought of their father explaining to Matron why his Johnson mounse strap and Pathinhaugh bobbleflet are entangled with his smooth feltching device.

Obviously you've considered one of the many fine felching devices available on the market?

I've always found a liberal coating of Mountfords Mild Felching Jelly around the rim ,prior to any form of insertion ,greatly assists any interference fit. It also reduces swelling around the joint ,which should it be required,  aids removal .
Be mindful, Pat,the forbush modification was banned in a number of public schools between the wars due to the high casualty rate amongst house masters .

I understand that Halfords do a fine reproduction of the Fothrington gerbil and small rodent extraction tool, either in stainless steel or white leather should you find that the trottle pin slips and the rim is excessively feltched.  A Dremel style tool can also be useful.

Erm ok...
Halibut is a type of flatfish from the family of the right-eye flounders (Pleuronectidae). This name is derived from haly (holy) and butt (flat fish), alleged to be called so from being commonly eaten on holy-days.

Inappropriate enough  ???
 ;)

Does a halibut need fletchwrangling?

Hummm, so haly - holy, butt - flatfish, so does that mean that yanks think they all have flatfish to sit on?  And surely sitting on a flatfish would do it no good at all.

Gives a meaning to Baby Spice's name mind  ;D

Are all right-eye flounders, right-eyed or do some fall the other way?

And Smudge - are the fins and masks in Lidl worth the money or not - was thinking if they are still there getting some for No1 son to play about with, but not if they are the usual utter pooh I end up getting from Lidl.

Not used them myself but just checked the local dive forum (where they were mentioned a lot, diver like bargains, it's a reaction to the cost of "genuine" scuba kit  :o)

Masks are generally thought of as good and a bairgain, just in case they've changed, you're looking for tempered glass and a flexible silicone skirt/strap for comfort and sealing. Really you should try them on and find one that fits but I imagine the lad would get by snorkelling if it's close and chap enough! (though do try if you can, if he folds the strap round the front of the mask out of the way and holds it (the mask) against his face in the normal wearing position, then gently breathing in through his nose should seal the mask against his face and allow him to remove the hand without the mask falling)

Fins seem variable, one et reported to have split after a giant stride entry, nothing heard otherwise.
If they're cheap enough then shouldn't be a worry for playing about with, and you can always pick up some cheap second hand sea fins(more scope for growing feet!) later if he likes it and they break.

A few BSAC clubs have snorkelling sections btw, if they get really into it...!
