Newbie says hello
« on: June 10, 2009, 04:35:29 PM »
Just bought an XBR and like everyone else I guess its going to end up as a proper cafe racer , just as soon as I find the unobtanium spoke wheels.
I'll probably have lots of stupid questions shortly...
Cheers
Steve

Welcome, from another relative newby and newish XBR owner.

I was fortunate to accidentally buy and SJ model with the spoked wheels - didn't realise at the time they were less common. I'd also have been happy with Comstars because they remind me of the CBR125TDC I wanted as a teenager - I could only afford a CB125TB which was faster (unrestricted) but didn't have the luxury of an electric start.

Not another Steve!!!.... Seriously welcome to the club.  There are plenty of people around who will be able to answer any questions you have. There are a few threads on spoked wheels on the forum that are worth reading before you part with any cash.

This is getting like a poor rendition of Monty Python's "Bruce's" sketch.

So GC is not a Steve - so on that basis must be The Queen...

Just what are you suggesting - we are a serious crowd here and never give anything other than totally serious and well thought through answers.

Well almost always

It's theoretically SWMBO's bike (not that she's actually ridden it yet) and she prefers the wire wheels!

welcome to the Thumper Club (Steve section), unlike the ne're do wells, vagabonds, knaves and general layabouts in the rest of the club, the 'Steve Section' is a haven of sobriety and calm, populated by gentlemen of a generous and sharing nature......it says here
