Whose XBR is this?
« on: June 05, 2009, 11:06:14 PM »
Just saw this piccy in the photo section

Click on picture for larger image

Nice, but is it a 500SJ with different bodywork or a G, F or H with later (spoked) wheels?
(flipping heck, this anorak is warm this time of year)

Nice though  ;)

ok, don't take the anorak off just yet....
What different bodywork?? Mine is an SJ which arrived with spoked wheels and now has comstars, and it has the same bodywork I've seen on every other XBR... does this mean;
1. they're all the same
2. I keep seeing SJ's
or 3. I need to look more closely??  ???

I thought the SJ only came in Silver, that's why I asked.

I'm basing this on the fact that I've only ever seen silver SJ models, so I might be talking bollocks  ;)

The SJ that went to York as part of a 'job lot'  ;), was certainly metallic silver, with the spoked wheels.

Mine is an SJ (I think) and it's burgundy.

There is a life outside your windows....

So when will we be buying the Thumper Club anorak stand.

Anorak is an Inuit word absorbed into the English language - thrilling huh.

Found this spec for the SJ online thats says the SJ was available in silver, burgundy and black - I can't vouch for the accuracy of the article, but I'm sure I've seen them in other than silver.  :-\

How about a new line in official TC merchandise .....The TC anorak !!!..... ;D

Sounds like mine is a "real" SJ then. I'm pretty sure I've seen pictures of other burgundy ones on the web.

It's mine and is just like the Johnny Cash song 'One piece at a time'....

The wheels are off the SJ, the engine is from an early XBR (judging by the serial number) and the exhausts (that I don't think that any of you spotted) are from a G model (the two piece system).
