Biking Quotes
« on: April 27, 2009, 07:49:06 AM »
Came across a couple that made me smile recently... anyone got any more?

"If you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride." Anon

"And I to my motorcycle Parked like the soul of the junkyard Restored,
a bicycle fleshed With power, and tore off Up Highway 106 continually
Drunk on the wind in my mouth Wringing the handlebar for speed
Wild to be wreckage forever." - James Dickey

"Only a Biker knows why a dog sticks his head out the car window." Anon

LOL  :D

I'm not sure about the second one, in my case it would end "Wild to own wreckage forever"

Good work, keep 'em coming

i remember watching the great kevin schwantz talking about his bikes handling to some interviewer, when asked how it felt to ride(the bike had been bucking and sliding about all over the track, but he still won) his description of 'kinda squirrely' was brilliant. complete nonsense, but at the same time a perfect description of the quick moving twitchy bike he was on. ever since, the term has been used millionsof times by people to describe twitchyness, but it always reminds me of schwantz.

My Favourite Ron Haslam quote is the much vaunted (note, needs to be repeated in a thick Derbyshire accent) 'If tha' wants to go fast tha's ahs tu lean it reeet o'er' - Fantastic, particularly when repeated by James May.

simon beck was racing a stock cbr600 on the island one year. for one of the monthly bike mags. he would ride up behind a slower rider and start flashing the headlight and sounding the horn to make them pull over, then he would use the indicators to pass them!!!!

Yes it was Stavros who got a bollocking for using the winkies. Another TT quote that I like is when Joey was asked why he had cocked up his braking on one corner on the last lap, he replied, "The girl in the red dress buggered off" (he'd been using her as a braking marker).
