I can't see the centre stand as being an issue as it sits in exactly the same spot on both bikes

But....
GB's doesn't have a central stand. ??? ???
Well not mine anyway, made for the US market.

TB is correct, it was not made for the XBR but for the GB.

However, Graham, is perfectly correct and a little bit of fettling is required for the mid-mounting point. Nothing beyond the whit of man however - that's me done for then  :-\

Just found this .....

http://www.kess-tech.de/hondaauspuff/Streetbikes/a-GB500XBR500.htm

Looks like a Superttrap end can (at least) is available for an XBR, in which case it should work with the centre stand?

So should someone email the buyer and tell him that the drum is essentially scrap?

Richard, you are correct it was Tony in Haxby and yes he did yell the guy that the drum was ovalised. However this was not reflected in the price the eBayer was asking or mentioned in his description of the article despite being fully aware of the situation as was proven by Graham.

Sorry, I meant that it would have been reflected in the price Tony charged him when he sold him the bike. I agree the eBay seller appears not to have been as upfront as he should have been, especially as most people looking for XBR back wheels are doing so because their wheels are oval!

Regards
Richard

Japanese market GB500TTs do. The later GB500 made for the US market don't.

Tony is in very good health Bill and a great character, always good to talk too. He has partially given up on the XBR's and GB's and is now procuring (in many bits!) CB360's in various states of dilapidation. Had 4 in the garage when I was there a couple of weeks back.

Tony still has a TZR with and XBR motor in however and a strange bitza using an XBR motor in some sort of frame complete with RGV front and rear ends making the strangest supermoto I have ever seen.

His garage is a cornucopia of biking madness!
