My wife often accuses me of exaggeration but I am sure you will agree with me that this is worthy of the title 'orgasmic Norton'. It may not be a thumper but it's achingly beautiful and boy would I love a ride on this one.

This was featured in Classic Racer some years ago, but (iirc) they only photographed it 'naked'. I'm glad to finally see what a lovely job the fella has done with the bodywork as well as his superb engineering.

Why would you take a laverda engine out of a laverda frame to fit a norton motor. It is as perverse as getting rid of the Domi frame and keeping the atlas engine.. but then again that seemed to work didn't it?

There's a fella who drinks in my local who has had no end of trouble with his Lavvy twin (the engine originally fitted to this chassis). Perhaps it was a case of a happy accident of available frame and engine to hand.

Some years ago at the Moto Guzzi singles rally a bloke turned up on a featherbed framed Panther (with the front down tubes cut out and Seeley style frame members running back to the swingarm pivot). I asked him why he had combined the two and he said, "Oh, it was just a nice way of clearing some scrap out of the garage".

This made me laugh a lot and succinctly encapsulates an admirable attitude to biking.

Truly beautiful.  Bet it sounds good too.

Laverda engines are beautiful too of course and with the right exhaust also sound gorgeous.  I take it the donor was one of the modern (ish) twins.  668/750 that is, a mate had one but the frame cracked due to the vibes.

How does the bike tame the vibes from the motor though ?  No room for isolastics in that setup.

I'm surprised at your ignorance. It's a simple matter of wearing crepe-soled shoes, wrapping child's inflatable armbands around the handlebar grips and placing a comfy cushion on the saddle. I rode like this for most of the 80s and it didn't do me any harharharharharharharharharhar... harm (damn that twitch).

It's simple (I can't believe I'm having to explain this), with shoes of 1" (or higher) crepe soles you can't get your foot under the gear lever to put the engine into gear so you never ride the bike.

They were truely awful !!!!!

The lad I know that had one had a replacement engine...cant remember what fell apart inside.
But he was given a jacket by Laverda....truly Seventies looking thing...the jacket.

My god GC.....you can't take this simplistic attitude to everything........next thing'll happen is you'll be adding a 3rd wheel to an otherwise perfectly serviceable bike......just 'cos you happen to have a few bits loafing about in the garage/shed/bathroom!

Its nice but I just feel these are all to much the same. It  looks good but I just never liked the look of Norton engines
