Good point. We (I) decided that the memberships would carry on for a bit without asking for renewals to make up for a lacklustre year of club admin and newsletter delivery.

I'll get back to you on this one

Aye SteveL, in agreement and payment online by PayPal or BACS please!

May I request that 'Newsletters' are in pdf format only and only accessible if you've current membership.

Also may I request that if you go down the paperless route that you publish in A4 Landscape format. Much easier to read than 8 point type in double column layout. So that you go cross eyed trying to read it and the
short
length
of the
line
reduces
the
flow
of the
article
to a
mono-syllabic, staccato, rant, down the 'gutter' of the page! :-X OK, I'll stop! ;)

I buy magazines online and the ability to just print what you want and the lack of glossy rubbish about the place is wonderful. Collecting old mags after clearing out a relatives house and hiring a paper skip to clear old mags with no value, gives a different perspective. Alternatively, you might burn them on the wood burner as its 'greener' than carting them away for pulp!

Office party yesterday in the sleet, at 1 degree C! I'll post an image if they come out. :)

Cheerybye, Bill.

No chrimbo parties for me... self-employed sole trader.

I suppose I could go to the pub all by myself and ask girls if they'd like to pull a cracker ;)

Actually, the day before yesterday on R4 they were talking about the horrors of taking your partner to the xmas party and the parties in general. There's nothing like a free bar works do to bring out some of the less amusing sides of your colleagues. I'm glad I will never again have to do an office xmas party.

For your info GC , I understand the phone box, next to the post office in the village, has a vacant slot on Monday night .

Fellow Exasperents
I am in the process of twisting Grahams arm (big enough hint GC) about putting a membership form in the forth coming newsletter. I does seem mad not to accept monies from eager users (of which I include myself) and get the Club back into a normal Club footing - if that ever existed? - but you know what I mean!

Hopefully I will be able to announce the posting of said Newsletter VERY early in January.......

as a self employed sole trader myself...i do sympathise with GC (not, I hasten to add, sufficently to offer hime a bung, or anything daft like that)...but funds are dwindling rapidly (well, to perfectly frank, the bank manager will be funding my membership this year).....so the sooner i get some sort of form to fill out (Graham....you realise you CAN claim a bit of tax back against 'membership of professional bodies'.....it is a stretch of the imagination I know....but i've been doing it for years....also training course costs....i did a course on wind generation [ha bluddy ha...heard all them jokes a million times] manufacture/design etc....bugger all to do with my work.....what the hell)
so....I get membership form asap.....cheque/paypal/whatever ....gets sent by return.....simple innit?

It might be useful for whoever is responsible for memberships now to confirm whether we are still under Graeme's moratorium on needing to pay, or whether some sort of payment is requested.
