Not me but if you draw a blank you can have my copy of 'Zen and the art' because I just cannot get on with it.

I know what you're saying Trophydave, I stuck with it, but it was sometimes very hard work.

I thought 'Zen...' was self-indulgent drivel. I just don't get what all the fuss is about. Perhaps I'm missing something. If anybody wants a scruffy old copy you're welcome to mine.

PM me and I'll forward my address.

Hmm, strongly divided opinion on the Zen book. I tried to read it once and just gave up. And no Pat, it wasnt your copy.

Sounds like one for a long trip. I managed Seven Pillars of Wisdom and a few other "classics" by the simple method of taking them on trips abroad with nothing else to read. Even so, there were still moments when reading the German version of the Sun or Daily Mirror seemed like it was worth the effort

Dave, books arrived safely and many thanks too!
I for one thought 'Zen' a great book, and the reason I wanted my copy back in the first place is so I can read it again.
All different here hey!

All a bit philosophical for me. I was expecting handy hints for fixing bikes. I should've bought a Haynes maual instead
Still, there you go. Nice to know it's gone somewhere it'll be appreciated.

I started off by wondering what a computer from Blakes Seven would know about bikes
I'll get my coat..

The sad thing is that the son that Pirsig discusses in 'Zen...' grew into a fine young man and Pirsig and his son became close. However, at the age of 23 the son was stabbed to death during a mugging.
