SRX 600 Carbs

I'm in the process of getting my SRX back on the road but have come up against a few problems
1) The choke plunger has become stuck in its bore in the carb body, any ideas for removing it?
2) What is the standard air screw setting (the one underneath the carb body)?
3) I'm fitting a Predetor stainless exhaust system, do i need to make any changes to the carb settings?

there is rwo types of plunger I have seen in the carbs one with a needle and one with out. I have interchanged them so not sure of why etc.
The plunger is just a push fit and should be loose, so I presume it is dried petrol sh*t causing the problem. Is the cable mechanism still attached. If so wd40 and brute force will eventually get it out. the mechanism can still be bought new (but expensive) if it is f*cked, but I think omegaman is flogging all his srx bits and I think he has plenty of carb parts/cables etc if you get stuck.
 Cant rember the actual settings but steveh will be along eventually and he knows most things. as for the carb settings with a preditor exhaust it also depends on what else has been done ie filters cams etc. most people get away with standard jets if it is an exhaust only mod but if more it may need bigger jets.

Tried getting the bugger out today and the tunnel the plunger goes in was full of corrosion, gonna use another carb body so end of problem. I anticipated the need for a new choke plunger so bought one (ouch!) it's the type with a spike on it so not sure if it will work on a set standard UK carbs (the bikes a standard 1JK nip import).
  The pipe is the only non-standard feature, carbs (now UK), motor air filter are all bog stock standard.

Hi,
Did you manage to sort out the choke plunger problem? I am having the same problem with my srx400.
The one with the pin did not fit my 1985 srx400, sent it back to the bike shop they are trying to get me the right one. I gave the frame no.1JL(jap import) still no luck as yet.

I've found brake fluid good at freeing up a wide range of stuff.
