Blue Skies intermixed with rain clouds and tee shirt warm, but still need to do the Pommy thing of socks in the thongs...Beers still got a chill on it, and the highways are hot.
The club(Ulysses) had its annual Odyssey on the weekend. It was held in only the next town out of Perth heading north, a liesurely 500 klm. Got about 120 k's and the car decided it didnt want to go much further so jammed up drive on the auto. All this @ 100km/hr with a trailer and scooter in a string of traffic. Havent done the autopsy yet, but I think its cactus. I had to drive it back in 1st and second by manually changing the shift. When I got it home the phone rang with a distraught relative of a member from another branch asking for information re the members fatal crash on the way to Geraldton. He ran wide in a corner and hit an oncoming car headon. His branch members were with him when it happened and they were still in shock when we got there the next day.
The mood picked up later that night at the opening and we celebrated his time with us. The only way ...cold beers.
The rest of the weekend was a doddle with tours to Kalbarri and other local sites. Nothing over 300 klms round trip The weather was fantastic except for the Friday on the way up there. If anybody plans to spend time in Oz, springtime is the best for wildflowers in WA.
