Here's something I didn't know (from Wikipedia):
The M62 motorway is a west-east trans-Pennine motorway in northern England, connecting the cities of Liverpool and Hull. The road also forms part of the unsigned Euroroutes E20 (Shannon to Saint Petersburg) and E22 (Holyhead to Ishim).

What is a Euroroute? Also, Shannon to St Petersburg... that's got to be a good ride eh?  :)

Green sign next to the blue/red ones in Europe, it's supposed to let you buy a map in any country and use it all through europe. Try it in the UK and you'd be stuffed, but that's verging on politics.

Another M-62 fact: It's the highest motorway in England.

Yet another M-62 fact: There is a farm in between the carriageways. The farmer in the '60's had a manor house charter signed by King John in 12-something. This beat the compulsory purchase order, so the motorway could only go on his land, not through his house. They put the motorways as close to his front and back doors as they were allowed, but had to build him tunnels for access etc. A bit of a victory for the little guy.

I'm sad I know  :-[

Oh I don't know, you look quite cheery in your avatar  ;)
I'ts one of the joys of this forum / club that we have such a range of hobbies/interests/knowledge being shared, like one of these rare spells in the pub when it's like watching QI on telly and the conversation veers wildly off topic and back again without achieving anything except being quite interesting and very entertaining  :) long may it continue!

QI - now there's a subject. Is it the best thing on telly or what?

I bloody love that show and it manages to be vastly entertaining without humiliating anyone or indulging in cringe-making shennanigans.

Did you see the christmas special with some of the unbroadcast bits? There was this massive digression involving the phrase "The Acropolis, where the Parthenon is" that left me half dead with laughing. I couldn't possibly explain it here, but it was one of my favourite bits of telly of 2007.

Thank god I have found someone else that thinks QI is fantastic. I was starting to worry as no one else at work will give it a look. Keep an eye on the Dave channe they show full days of Repeats

How can you not enjoy QI? It's like the best bit of pub banter in the world.

Two other youtube QI clips worth viewing are the 'Mein Handi' clip and the one where Stephen calls Alan a "pig-eyed sack of shit"

Marvellous stuff
