Tsk, always showing off trying to do things the posh way! What's wrong with black nasty? Or even a bit of bailer twine round it to keep everything together??

Was that because 60's gum and Araldite shared many ingredients? There again, my mum used to feed me biscuits that were just e-numbers, MSG and modified starch (some were the same colour as the TC logo!) and I turned out OK

actually, that looks like a sort of Lumiweld stuff. I've got some [different brand] that claims to be stronger than the parent metal, and the repair looks like that. It would have to have been done in a furnace, though.
