B25 and B50 anybody?
« on: January 19, 2008, 11:33:59 PM »
Found this site and it has a wealth of reading, mechanical/workshop tweaks and pictures of some really cracking bikes including a B25 with a Suzuki Savage engine installed!

http://www.b50.org/index.htm

Might I suggest a link on this site to it?

I hope everybody enjoys it. ;D

Finally, I hope the Ark is built and positioned in the Brecon Beacons, I don't like the sound of the volumes of water falling in Wales this January! ??? Are you all dry at present?

My regards, Bill.

Great site Bill, I've long had a secret desire for a 1964 B40 so I could own a bike as old as me  ;D

As for the rain down here, well it's getting a tad annoying I must say! I'm alright, but you try amusing a 9 & 10 year old all weekend when they can't play out! Tests the nerves let me tell you.

Try Muddy Puddles - they do a load of great outdoor kit for kids - wrap them up and send them out - ours seem to end up sat in the river or sea whatever the weather anyway...

Aye Pat,

Wet weather occupations.

'Scrambling' on a scrap heap push bike with the mudguards removed for maximum clart application to the rider. Wading in puddles, preferably with livestock 'effluent' content for that certain 'bouquet' when arriving home. ;D

This meant undressing to the underwear before being allowed in the house, sent to the bathroom with Vim and having to clean the bod and bath with the Vim until spotless! ??? Then came the fun of hand washing the clothes in the sink and putting them through the mangle. ;D

Never learnt, went and played rugby [mud with added blood], rode motorbikes [same again] and played with traction engines, Swarfega instead of Vim and a parrafin rag to clean the bath with! Boiler suits were waterproofed and used to kindle the fire when stiff with oil and coal dust. Kids! ;D

My regards, Bill.

Brought back a few memories of tear-arsing round the local woods on my push bike.

Boys aren't shy of mud thanks, and love a good yomp in the woods, but with the rain we're getting things would get out of hand if they wore a wet suit!

Lewis' rugby has been called off for 3 weeks now cos of a flooded pitch :'( The boy's beside himself and tries to practice his 'Dive across the line' technique on the settees >:(
