Wish me luck guys
« on: December 22, 2007, 08:04:04 PM »
Had my leaving do last night following on from my last day at work. I'm officially unemployed until 2nd Jan when the Squirrel household will be turned on it's head as we all deal with the consiquences of my new job.

Must be honest and say I'm bricking it now, but am excited at the same time. Wifey says this is my "Grown up job" and at 43 I suppose it's about time, but I am well outside my comfort zone.

Can't say what I'll be upto next year as I haven't a clue what is ahead of me, so wish me luck guys. ;D

Pat, in 12 months time you'll be looking back at this time wondering why you were worried. Just bear in mind they offered you the job because your capable of doing it.

Good luck Pat with whatever it is you are going to do. I'm sure it'll all work out. Let us know how it all goes. Does this mean an end to early,  very early commutes?

Positive thoughts Pat, you know it's all in the mind! ;)

Whatever it is, you are going to do, head up, shoulders back and think positive. That includes saying "No".

That's my failing, not easy to say "No" ::)

My regards, Bill.

Yep Bill, no more 6am commutes :'( Worse I've got 30 plus motorway miles to do each way at rush hour time, 5 of which are through road works >:( .

This morning I'm in more confident mood again, Yesterday was spent recovering from the leaving do alcohol and brooding over all the nice things I'm leaving behind that my (ex)colleages had reminded me of. One thing is a fact, and that I'm taking this job! That can only mean positivity from now on.

Cheers guys, happy New Year to us all ;D

Join the club !
I changed jobs after nearly 20yrs in one place !!!!
I've gone the other way...less travelling !
New job in a new shop !

Mind 'tis a bit quiet...and down to a 3 day week, for the next two months  :-\ AND the cut in money to go with it  >:(

But I am trying to be positive about it as they are putting me through an MOT Testers course,as they are having the bay put in.  ;)

Best of Luck Pat.

My sentiments exactly, you wouldn,t have been offered the job if they didn,t think you could do it and the change will do you good. be positive abd enjoy the challenge. Bets of luck steve D :D
If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!
