A bit far away and I've a feeling the bidding will get away from me but I'll be keeping my beady eyes on it...

Looks very nice indeed. Bike looks to be from the era when Bavanar were the importer and they were responsible for driving up the quality of the product. I think it ended up with a separate production line for UK bikes in the Madras factory. I also seem to remember that some of the early 90s Enfields had Dream Machine paint rather than the Indian original.

Perhaps Jethro can help with these details, he had a new one around that time and he worked for an Enfield dealer.

Cheers

It's very pretty, isn't it. Puts my little XBR outfit to shame in the looks department. One day soon I shall build my own sidecar body to replace the Velorex, which looks like a shoe

Yes,this is one of the Bavana imported bikes.
Nice outfit !  :D
The Madras factory had a seperate production line for the export machines.Where the quality and finish was better.
That didnt stop some of the bikes needing repainting once they got over here.
The tank on my first one was re-painted at Dream Machine.
My first Enfield was a Deluxe and the same colour as this one.
Ideal machine if you want to experiance motorcycling at a more sedate and relaxed pace.
But you must be handy with the whitworth spanners to keep it in fine fettle.
Which I think can add to the fun.

I disagree, I think your outfit is lovely (especially since that fairing has gone  :) )

I'm pleased you didn't sell it. Having felt how little weight there is in a Velorex chassis and chair, your XBR must be pretty quick for a single cylinder outfit.

That looks really nice - some rust etc, but what do I expect.  I think if I was affluent (rather than effluent) I would be tempted - lovely looking sidecar.

Mind I know nothing at all about charriots - would love to have one but have never even been a passenger let alone ridden one - so my views are totally personal and about the looks.

'Holiday On the Buses' also springs to mind.
The bidding shot up to £2000 really quickly. Too much for me. :(
