Yeah very nice, with a good paint job it would look 100% better.

Wasn't sure at first but having taken a careful look I reckon it's a superb little chop.

Very nice indeed and likely to be unique.

Wonder what it's like to ride? And, no that does not mean I am considering bidding!

XBR Chop

Would look good with some 1930s' style parts - lower tank, wrap around mudguard, and so on.

I've just sold a bike (XJ650), but unfortunately  that money is spent. Otherwise I'd be interested.

XBR Chop

Also, I think I have a picture of it at a rally, in a copy of "Motorcycle Rider" that someone gave me when I bought my GB500, in 1995 (because it had an article on GBs and XBRs in it). So if that's the same bike, it's been around a while.

XBR Chop

And PS, I could do with those forward controls on my outfit.

Each to there own but using a rigid rear on a bike such as this putting out what 35/40 Hp is foolish.Even on my Norton 14 hp, if you hit a bump with the power on and the rear wheel is airborne then you have a risk on a wet or slippery road of the rear wheel stepping out.I do realise that a lot of bikes such as these are ornamental not meant for use .

Lovely little chop, wonder who made the frame...
Almost tempts me to try building one sometime (if only there was time  ::) ) wouldn't worry too much Bruce, stock XBR engines only ever made 35hp or more in Hondas literature (with the possible exception of the ones they gave the journalists! Either they were talking rot or they had specially prepared XBR's with different engine internals!) 32/33hp is doing well for them.
I haven't ridden a hardtail chop, although I know of a couple which have done huge mileages (with way more powerful engines). I assume you just have to ride cautiously in some circumstances?

In '88 I travelled in China on an organised bike tour with seven other riders, one of whom was there to report on the trip for Superbike magazine. He asked what I rode and when I told him he said, "XBRs are great, they wheelie really easily in the first three gears"

We concluded that as this didn't tally at all with my experiences of my bike, the press bike might have been a little 'looked at'.
