hiya guys,

are any of the engine or plastics interchangable on a 1985 SRX400 and a 1987 SRX600?

Hey Chrissy-

Most, I'd think...  Was there such a thing as an 85 SRX??  But they're effectively the same bike.  The engine will certainly go in.

just found loads of 400 parts on fleabay think its being broken mine is a 600 but think if they fit certain parts would be worth getting.

Yes, you will find that essentially it is the same bike.....and the engines are interchangeable as a complete lump.

(there may be wiring loom differences as grey imports don't have a side stand switch, but do have an annoying red light on the dash that comes on at 80 kph....a japanese regulation)

You may find the rear sprocket is a different number of teeth as , if i remember correctly the 400 is geared down a bit.

the 400 may only have a single front disc and caliper

A lot of the imports are registered as 85 as this was their year of manufacture, rather than registration.

sorry steve lol im always on the lookout for parts for my babies

im more interested in the plastics and mirrors than anything else. not sure if the shocks would be worth gettin the damping on mine aint up to much its like riding a pogo stick at times.
