Stafford

Had an excellent weekend at Stafford, got back from Stafford in one piece around 8:00pm, managed to get lost after completely missing a turn off for a short stretch of motorway, so ended up cutting across country along B roads which was quite nice.
Thanks to Boyd for doing the organising and lending me a tent and Bruce for the food.

here here

Great effort by Boyd on the stand, and thanks to everyone else who did the whole weekend supporting the TC (unlike me who managed a paltry 4 hours) your efforts deserve some sort of recognition, in fact...

....I think you should be awarded the contract for next year  ;D

well done chaps

I got home around 8.15, from a 5.30 start (sorry about leaving the guys knocking down the stand in the lurch). I managed most of the way to the M50 turn off in daylight and once again I did the M50 in the dark. I don't know why it gets to me, but it does.

Congrats to Boyd, Bruce, Steve C (nice to meet you), Simon, Steve and Rob. The show was very enjoyable and in some ways it was nice to do it in a low key sort of way.

Bruce did wonders in the cooking department (apologies for my late show on Sunday morning) and although I have no idea who provided it, the endless stream of Stella was much appreciated.

Boyd, as usual, laid out a good-looking stand, bloody good work that man.

Apart from all the other aspects of the show (buying tat, looking at bikes, laughing at other people's riding gear) I had a really nice weekend, with excellent company and good banter. I hope the other guys felt the same too.

Thanks to my poor attempts at negotiation we have been assured that the stand will return to the other side of the balcony for next year.

We have also signed up for the VJMC Uttoxeter show (click here for details), although that will not be a themed stand.

I'd just like to say that the absence of some faces was keenly felt at the show. Steve D, Rick, Pat, Martyn and Alan have been real stalwarts the last few years and I hope we will see them back at Stafford next year.

Cheers
GC

Most enjoyable week end !
Good Company as per usual...even though I didnt get a mention !
Many Thanks to Bruce for providing frame tent for the gathering of Thumpeteers and of course the Pressure Cooker.    Very Good idea !
Spent far too much money in one go,but there again proberbly saved a few pennies because it was for things that were needed or required.
RobG and myself managed to flog a few Club T-shirts and badges with out too much bother and encourage a few to look into joining.
So heres to the next one

I got home around 7pm after an uneventful journey.   Excellent weekend if a little chilly at night!  Thanks to Boyd for the organisation and Stella! Also to Bruce & GC for the good nosh and everyone else for the good company. Shame we were stuck with a less than ideal stand but we still seemed to attract a lot of interest and hopefully a few new members.
