I have a Freewind and it's a great bike.

I like singles 'cos they're easy to work on and sound like a proper bike.

But I've always wanted a Guzzi and now have the chance of buying one.

So the question is, do I keep the Suzi or buy the Guzzi?

Guzzis sound like real bikes too! Go for it if you've hankered after one for a while. I have spaces reserved in my "virtual" garage for a Cali, Centauro and a V11 Sport. But then I've always liked quirky bikes ;-)

I agree.If it's something you've always wanted you should go for it.You may not get another chance and you would regret missing this one. IMHO.

My dad loves his Nevada. Have to say it's a bit too cruiser-ish for my tastes, but the engine is great.

get a guzzi single like the falcone cheaper than a new one and more character than the freewind.

Treat yourself and get the Guzzi, a bit like two singles a once! Easy to work on, cylinder heads are unobstructed , dead simple technology and shaft drive, no more messing with chains. I've known of some with over 300,000 miles on the clock.You may have guessed that I have one, the handling is a bit slow and the torque reaction when you blip the throttle at standstill can be a bit odd at first, don't be put off, they grow on you. Not as nimble as a single but great on swinging 'A' roads. If you want to see a nice Guzzi single, go to R.O.S Guzzi, a German site, they have taken a 500 Falcone and turned it into a 750, looks nice too, Babel Fish translation is hilarious.

i've ridden a friends 1991 1000s and i loved it. it has all the feeling and character of an old british bike, plus 130mph and a bullet proof engine.

another friend has an 850 le mans thats now somewhere near 1000cc. 280'000 miles with only two rebores and some valve guides. its been used for everything from the elephant rally, when it had motocross tyres, to courier duties in central london.
and in all that time its been washed twice.

take the guzzi for a spin, within 100yards you'll know the answer.

Well, I have a 1986 Guzzi V65 Lario for sale near Burton on Trent.  It's red (of course!) 650cc, 60bhp, loads of mid-range torque, triple discs, fitted panniers, 34,000 miles, owners handbook & factory workshop manual, electronic ignition, fully serviced & long MOT. A stylish & practical all-rounder for a mere £1,450 ono, near Burton on Trent.  (Reason for sale? recently supplanted by a Ducati ST4.)
