Aye rather good, but after my experience today make sure you don't have rose tnted goggles on!

Driving to work and within 400m of the office down a single track road I came face to face with a German motorcyclist on a 1150 trail with panniers and luggage on my side of the road!!!

Luckily I take it steady down this bit of road in case of low-loaders with large forestry machines on board. My German friend was just setting off for the day, after breaking camp and was on auto-pilot German mode, but slow whilst the bike warmed up.

He ended up under the bike against a wall on my near side, whilst I came to a halt having avoided him by a whisker in the middle of the road. The panniers and crash bars on the cylinders saved him and the bike and I managed to lift the brute off him.

After profuse apologise, some motorcyclist banter about "Links fahren" and showing him the rural 'Thumper' route to Inverness and John O'Groats rather than the A9 all the way we went our seperate ways.

I don't want to repeat that scenario in a hurry and watch yersel' 230 on this Alpine tour.

Safe bopping, Bill.
