Pembrey Weekend
« on: June 17, 2007, 06:58:00 PM »
Well for those that went it was a very fine weekend full of drama and success. It was great to see Andy flying around and finish both races in the top four for the aircooled class.  Many thanks to John and Andy and Amanda and Boyd  for their unstinting hospitality and company - I must have looked underfed or something but I was plyed with food all weekend - they'll know better next time :-)

It was great to see Pat and Steve today.

Guys!

Cheers all for coming, it was very much appreciated, and a brilliant weekend.  Not being last really REALLY rocks!!!  And chasing someone's tail for a few laps is also good.  I feel like I won the bloody race!!

Normally a pack of leather-clad backs just disappear away from my off the line.  And then you see them again about 8 minutes later!  Not so much this time, very satisfying, on my 155 kilo "classic" bike!

Steffan, you're welcome to my food anytime!  And agreed, good to see the TC faithful.  Sorry I couldn't spend more time, and have a bit more fun (ie beer and watching races) but I had to pretend I was serious about the racing  ;-)

Cheers for now, speak soon.  I'm not doing mallory or donnington, but there is cadwell in october if anyone is interested?

Action shot - PLJphoto

I enjoyed my run out at Pembrey taking a 2nd in the 5th round of the championship - however it wasn't all plain sailing... that Mike Edwards mucked up my battery situation again - check out the blog details Gordon's Blog

I am not just pleased with the result though, with all the hard work of my 'special friends', Mike says that I am now a 'good bike' to ride, and with a couple more tweaks, will become a 'great bike' for the track.

Don't forget £60 will get you a 1 in 100 chance to win me.

Great day out, and I doff my cap to you (Andy) for being mad/brave enough to have a go :-) I shall have to be better organised next time and make a weekend of it too rather than a day trip.

Live long, live well, live happy

Andy,
what sort of shape was that plug in after the 135s when you popped it out

Wish I could have made it, but I was away at Lands End with my family (first decent break together in a long time).

Andy - your stickers were supposed to be ready today (I'll check tomorrow), apparently there was a problem getting them done last week, sorry.

Hello mate-

BLACK BLACK BLACK!  Like a goth's wardrobe on a dark night (but without the purple lipstick marks).

Very sooty indeed, no real surprise there then.  So 130s it is...

Cheers

well that answers that question but it doesn't necessarily sort out your full throttle running unless it was the plug cap and or the kinked fuel line. Sounds like a few motorway runs are in order
