So I should not - but like clotted and cream, Rossi and podium, F1 and tedium they just seem to go together.

Looks like it'll be fun when its done, I like the idea of big engines in small frames.

Ah, I once rebuilt a TZR250 2MA jap import (with the dinky rear indicators, much nicer than the UK bikes). Seeing that tank and frame brings it all back. I loaned it to an acquaintance so he could put it on the MAG stand at a local show whilst I was working and he obviously decided to ignore my warning to "watch the front tyre, it's getting ragged", either that or he was just a pratt but by the end of my shift it was a wreck. "I lost the front at 30" (more like 60) he whined when I gripped him by the windpipe - I was mortified and couldn't face doing it all again -  flogged the remains to a mate, who left it in his garage for a number of years and it gradually got scattered to the four winds.

Presumably it will have 'universal' engine mounts that will allow you to drop either the Triumph or Rotax lump dependant upon your mood. I'd also suggest wing-nuts on the engine bolts as they make engine removal/re-fitting much quicker, out of neccessity I had them fitted to a Morini 500 once.

Wing nuts - what a good idea - actually the Rotax is going into another frame - this one I got from ebay for 99p - My Dad even paid for it cand collected it.

The trike - well another 99p purchase turned up on friday - a Triumph Tina engine - turns over but have not looked for a spark yet and need to adapt a carb for it etc etc.  But that would drop in nicely - mind the trike is from the local play group and is home for repairs - can see it now - 3 year old causes devestation at playgroup when throttle sticks open.  "It was carnage" says local mother of 14 Ellie (25).  "There was all this blue smoke and a ring-a-ting-ting sound and then all the kids were screaming."  On finding out that it was the work of an Englishman she replied that - "It is just the same all the time these english trying to kill us off"

Aye Rog,

" - this one I got from ebay for 99p - My Dad even paid for it cand collected it."  STILL?

"It is just the same all the time these english trying to kill us off" Who he?

I was looking for the HOG tassles in the bar ends of the trike to keep the flys off the 'Originals'!

Mind you, a shrill Tina Turner, strutting her stuff  ;-)

Yippee, its Monday tomorrow!

Cheers, Bill

Me me me me me.

It's good to actually be in the lower end of the age group of something, even if I do feel 60 this morning (the dog ate the cat food and has spent all night with the screaming hee-bee gee-bee's, alternating between howling, running round the walls and scratting. Explains why the cats always look so smug, probably stalking that pink elefant. Might try it myself sometime, but not on a work day!)

Me too, but Im well aquainted with the world of leaky pushrod seals. I feel over 40 because I was crawling round the garage most of the weekend welding pod in hand...
The dog sleeps whatever you feed him here. Sometimes when he's lolling in his kennel half in his bed, I have to go nudge him to make sure he's not died or something. Its the cats we have to evict to get sleep...

Its going to get hot under that tank and warm the shock up nicely too isnt it  rog, havent you got enough half finished projects to be getting on with for a bit, or is the cunning plan to throw this lot together in a pile in the back of the shed till you get time (sounds like half my sheds contents!)  :D

Yup - chuck it in the back of the shed - I got the frame so I could measure up plates etc without having to continually lift the Rotax lump in and out - struck me that for £5 I could cut the thing open and see waht was what.  so 99p was a bargain.

The empty 650 cases were to do the same job on the Triton, but that looks like it will be pre-unit now.  Did have some money to do it with but then the car died...  But then GC came round and started doing out bog - not seen him since - and pointed out that I was a peasent for having an OiF frame sat in the garden and I really ought to get it in the shed - well I must and then the empty cases can go in that as I work out where things go - so I can build a Tiger Trail alike for Jen - mind she may well need a Zimmer frame before I get round to it.  So at some popint I will be needing some nice forks and wheel of something like a DR 750, later XT etc.

Just lots of dreams in various states of non-build.

Everything progressing in parallel, with suitable loss of progress on all...
Good job we do these things for fun rather than good sense eh?

I own 7 bikes now and 2 cars and 3 vans, not counting the ones that have died in the field and wont ever be ressurected (or the van tally would go to 7).  Out of that grand tally, two bikes are useable although both of them are scheduled shortly to have internal engine surgery to cure some malaise, one of the cars (but its the rangie, so useable involves some wallet discomfort and loss of street cred due to its battered appearance) and one of the vans, and thats got holes in the rear big enough to poke your finger through and wont be passing another controle without mr mig visiting extensively in nov.  Still my xt is progressing nicely and at least the sp still runs...

The too many projects comment was more cos I have a inkling of where you are at...
