I met him a couple of times at the late Fred Barlow's shop in Tamworth, and he seemed a very nice bloke. Fred of course looked after all his unit BSA singles when Jeff was riding for BSA.

Sad to see how many of the old boys are leaving us recently, though inevitable given how long ago that era was. Les Emery and Dave Degens also died recently.

He was a Colne boy too. I now reside in a village called Barrowford (an adopted Lancastrian. The things one does for love 😜) which is literally 2 miles away.
