MOT passed today and the bike runs great. Even the brakes are improving with use....

But I have a persistent fuel leak which has spoiled the overall joy.

I'm advised it's likely to be the float bowl gaskets so a new set is on order.

Brilliant news Martin. Fuel leak aside.
I hope, given all the hard work and grief it’s given you over the last few months that the sun shines this weekend and you can get out for a decent spin on it🤞

Thanks Michael.

The leak's quite bad so I decided not to tax the bike yet.

Parts should arrive next week so I'll be back on it then.

Weather here is very mixed so I'm off to Shelsley Walsh this afternoon (in the car).

Read test better than road test in yesterday's weather......

Damn predictive text....you have to double check everything...

Weather is now better so I've ventured out. It's very quick for a 400 or it might be down to my age?

Seems faster than my CBR600?

No fuel leaks anyway...but temperature gauge issues now. I did 15 miles and it was creeping up to the red zone. Coolant level is ok so further investigation is needed.

I'm still having a few recommissioning problems.
The temperature gauge now seems to be behaving itself but I've rigged up a manual override switch for the fan just in case.
I've also still got the occasional fuel leak which is due to using old pipes.
Finally there seems to be a misfire which occurs intermittently so this needs further investigation.
When it's running well this is a very impressive machine but I hope I can resolve these few remaining difficulties.

Yes, with all the hassle you’ve had with it to get it this far. You deserve it to run well/sweetly so you can hopefully enjoy the fruits of your labour
Fingers crossed for you Martin 🤞
