Just what do we have to do to have the basic right of being able to use roads safely?

I came very close to dying the other day when a young man in a 4x4 drove straight in front of me to get to the garage he obviously was desperate for. I stopped after brushing the front of his car with my leg and he got out of his car and said the classic 'sorry I didn't see you' to which I replied (very controlled given how I was feeling) ' the trouble is people like you don't look and people like me then die'. He repeated he hadn't seen me and he was sorry. Once again in a very controlled way I said ' oh good someone can tell my grandchildren at my funeral that the man who killed Grandad didn't see him but at least he was sorry'. By this time he was whiter than paper and looked like he was about to throw up so I left it feeling that he wouldn't forget my words in a hurry.

Now we have to contend with sponsored ideas for killing us. All because we like two wheels. I can't wait for the shuttle back to my planet to arrive.

Sorry to say Ian, your planet (and mine) vanished without trace about 20 years ago. I do realise its a function of growing old, but I feel I have much more in common with the world of the 60's and 70's than I do with the modern world. I'm just watching the re-runs of 'The Champions' TV series from that era - brilliant!

Get in 🤘.... blimey it must be the 70’s the last time I watched one of those. I used to absolutely love Randel & Hopkirk (deceased) I was only quite young but still remember it vividly 👍
