Happy Himmo day to me!

Yes, picked it up this morning - it's great to be thumping once again. Great ride home, and great experience with the dealer Quarry Bank Motorcycles. 😊👍

Well done Pete, hope you enjoy it, especially as the good weather is starting to reappear (apart from next weekend when we have snow ??🌨? forecast again!). Looks like a good candidate for our stand in July 🙄.
Glad you had a better experience with QB bikes than I did with the Benelli 😡.

Top stuff Pete, I like the petrol camouflage paint finish. Talk about rubbing it in, that’s both you and Spartacus that are making me weep just thinking about the service I could have had if I’d only gone and bought a “normal” bike.
Anyway, really hope you enjoy the bike and hopefully have many of happy himmy miles 👍
Cheers, Michael

Looks good Pete, if a bit tall for me!

Thanks for the good wishes everybody.

Ian - it's not as tall as it looks, definitely lower than the Slr650.

Michael - sorry mate, I'm sure the Spitfire will turn up soon, and I've only heard positive things from people who've ridden them.

Himalayan seat height is fine, but tail end is difficult for a shorter chap to swing leg over.  Just watch how many riders get on like a girl by standing on the footrest, epecially when fitted with the huge tin panniers that are essential for looking adventurous.....other sexes are available, (apparently)   8)

Hey Pete

Lovely looking bit of kit. I went out on the GN yesterday and it was indeed bloody lovely to be thumping again, nothing beats it.

Hope Michael gets to join us as soon as possible.

Evening Pete, I’m wanting an honest no holds barred opinion on the Enfield Himalayan please. Our kid is giving one very serious consideration so I said I’d post and ask your honest opinion to get some “real world” feedback... cheers, Michael

Bloody marvelous - I keep reading of satisfied owners of Himalayans.

Let us know how you find it - I'm severely tempted by the Interceptor myself.

Thanks guys. My feedback so far is all positive. The bike is only just run in, so I've only done one 'full power' run so far. I guess it's all about expectations, but it doesn't seem underpowered to me. I tested it up my benchmark local dual carriageway Hill, which is about a mile long at 1 in 10 or so and it accelerated up to 70 and held it all the way up, no problem. It'll pull from tick over in all gears, but comes on to the pipe over 4k. Fuel consumption seems to be about 90mpg, but will probably go down a bit now I can give it the berries. Loving it so far. 😁

Obviously I can't comment on long term reliability, but from the research I did before buying, the only problems seems to corroding brake calipers (fixed by a recall), clocks misting up and sterling head bearings under greased from the factory. Ie, nothing too serious at all. I think Nathan Millward of postie bike fame has about 40k on his at the moment, including a lot of off roading, with no serious issues.

That being said, I went into the purchase with my eyes open fully expecting to have to do more hands on maintenance than you would with a Honda, but that's part of the fun to me...

Brilliant insight Pete, thanks for the info. All of which I shall pass on to big bro, like your good self he’s not going in to this expecting anything to polished and as you may or may not already know he’s been the owner of an Enfield (from new) now for about three years or so, so he’s used to the “power” 😉.
Here’s to many more happy “Himmy” miles for you.
Cheers, Michael

Looking good Pete - health to enjoy as we say. As you mentioned previously I was following Tim on his last week and he was tramping on rightly.

Regards
