I can't help drooling over that! There used to be a bike in very small scale production called a Healey Four which was a square four motor in an updated frame etc. That was bloody lovely too. I still get the most thrill out of old Brit bikes. Or 80s jap singles. Either way that is a beautiful bike.

Yes, saw that. Worcestershire libraries have just started a scheme whereby you can borrow various magazines including classic bike, classic motorcycle etc. I won't pay the prices for those in the shops.

Re the Healey, that was made fairly local to me in Redditch and I always fancied one. I did see one on the road a few years ago heavily laden with camping gear and a pillion passenger but they're rare birds. I think the square 4 engine was fairly underdeveloped once Ariel were taken over by BSA.

I'm with you Ian - magazines are a ridiculous price these days. However, Sue subscribes to Readly, the online magazine thing, so I get free access!

I've taken out a CB subscription again-got a free Oxford battery smart charger and although they've gone full circle by coming back to mainly Brit bikes but with a smattering of Japs and Italian bikes as well I've been impressed with the 3 issues I've had so far.
Ian we've been using the magazine swap facility at Hagley library for quite a few years' Is this a new scheme? The trouble with Hagley being such a small library they rarely seem to have much for petrol heads but I often offload my old bike and car mags there .

Re library scheme: the one Worcestershire uses is called Libby. It seems to have an excellent range and includes back issues so I'm working my way backwards through CB and CMC. They also do things like New Scientist. I have to say I prefer paper copies but seeing as I'm getting them for nowt will put up with the inconvenience.... I thinkl most libraries have something similar and seem to remember that Birmingham certainly did. In fact I've just looked and they'r moving to Libby in April.

Pete - I tried a free trial of Readly but didn't continue with it as it wasn't worth it for me. It might be worth suggesting to Sue that she try the library service then you'll be able to afford petrol for the Himmy!

Thanks Ian. That sounds like a vast improvement on what Hagley is offering.TBH we haven't access Worcestershire libraries during the lockdown but I shall look further into this once thy re-open.The Hive-main library in Worcester is worth a visit-there's even a cafe. Malvern library also used to have a cafe and worth a pleasant ride via the back lanes on a thumper.
