Well I for one will be going out if I get the time and weather is on my side, nice and steady, no heroics. Reasonably short ride but feel it’ll do my mental health the world of good... thanks for posting Ian, sheds a little more clarity on the situation.
Cheers, Michael

Very interesting, thanks. Mine's still in bits, so I'm getting therapy just plodding away at sorting it😜

Thanks for posting that Ian it is good to read something motorcycle specific.

May I take this opportunity to comment however on the first point that the lives of our friends and family are in the balance. I can't help feeling that this sort of dramatic comment isn't helpful and certainly not for people who may be anxious. Whilst any or all of us could be at risk please let's be sensible about that.

As I have mentioned I work with people with profound disabilities, many of whom have weakened immunity and/or respiratory conditions which are life-limiting. The conditions for us as staff when we go to work are as follows; we must change our clothes and shoes on arrival at work no matter how we travel. The clothes we use at work must be washed at 60 degrees or above and we must change again before going home. We take our temperature at the beginning of a shift and during. Face masks are worn at all times and aprons, gloves etc used for more intimate tasks. Hand washing must be frequent and done according to the 6 (or even 12) steps recommended by the NHS. We have followed these guidelines strictly and haven't had any cases amongst staff or patients.

So if you are concerned just make sure that you go for a ride in clothes you can change straight away when you get home and most of all enjoy!

Quite a good article. I particularly liked the paragraph:

"It’s now more important than ever that ALL motorcyclists present the right image to the world, proving how convenient, efficient and inexpensive scooters and motorcycles can be as a form of transport. The fact that they’re also hugely enjoyable is a bonus, but please do consider how we all appear to those who don’t understand life on two wheels, be it on the road or when using social media."

Something definitely not observed by some local riders I'm afraid.

All true folks!

If only "most bikers" were like us eh?

.

.

I got really pissed off with Bennets as they stringly suggested that bikers UK-wide could get out. I know some will roll their eyes, but seriously, 3 out of 4 UK countries are still saying nope!!  Eventually in the small print it said not Scotland, Wales, Ireland. But NOWHERE did it say "England". - would have been do easy to stsrt their message with:"Bikers in England are now allowed..."
(that was fb yesterday, their website may be now worded better.

I'm a bit pissed off with Bennetts anyway - they proposed a 44% increase in my insurance costs with them this year.

Got it down a bit with other companies now but still trying.

Gits.
