COVID-19 - A Positive
« on: March 17, 2020, 05:04:12 PM »
I'm sure that each and everyone will have their own opinion on what we are all facing and having to deal with. On the bright side, let us not forget that there is a positive for us of the biking persuasion - the roads are generally quieter and we can self isolate (assuming no pillion is carried) whilst enjoying the ride. Maybe the weather will be better too?  :)
Regards, Clive.

Nice positive message, thank you.

I am old enough to have survived several epidemics and had diseases as a child that were still killers back then so to be quite honest I'm not letting this latest situation bother me. I do feel for people who are suffering with the anxiety of it all and just wish more people would take a considered approach.

My only concern is that in a fortnight I'm off on a hostelling trip on Colin the Suzuki (Spooky's old GN250) and as I weigh 20 stones I might be banned as a mass gathering. Other than that it's SNAFU.

Yep, me too Ian. Trying to ignore all the scare stories, though I am avoiding contact with all the older folk I know as a matter of common sense. Intending to go out on the bike as normal tomorrow, do a nice country walk and then coffee and cake in a cafe if I can find one open.

Speak for yourself Steve. 🤣.

Sadly all this looks like Shepherds Rest is going to be a no go this year. ☹️

We are not making a final decision for a couple of weeks, but at the moment the pub and campsite is closed so seems likely it will be off.

Well...a friend and I went out on an e-bike ride today and we ended up at the riverfront in Chester...and the cafe was shut...is there something going on?  and the funny thing is, on the way, he dropped his kitkat on the road and I ran over it...total destruction.
Off to Wales tomorrow on the DR for a ride with some other friends.
Crisis, what crisis, just carry on regardless.
Dave.

Apparently we’ve got to figure out how far apart Los Angeles, Long Beach, and San Diego are.  :-\

What?  :o  Why?  :-[

We’re supposed to be practicing Socal Distancing.  ;)

Thanks to Phil Hall, Gold WingDing pilot, NSW, who has just been out on a run with 30 mates on various bits of machinery. I quote, "Apart from the lack of hand-shaking, we treated the day pretty much as we would. Given that they were mostly people in the “at risk” category, like me, it was clear that they were observing the “be aware but not alarmed” mantra."

There has also been a notable increase in motorcycles past the house this week and a decrease in evening traffic. However, the "look after number 1" ********'s have continued to clear out the supermarkets, so I shall be resorting to baking my own bread and oatcakes, wiping my 8888 with moss from the lawn and trying to stay chilled, rather than driving stakes through the hearts of the zombies!  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(

Good health, Bill

No.... I’d drive stakes through the hearts of the mindless zombies (shellfish deek heads) Bill
Be much more fun 😉🤘
