What a great weekend that was. The whole thing was relaxed and we had a hoot. The stand was rudimentary, but it went up in about three minutes so it was one less thing to worry about. Ifor brought along his Norton 16H, Boyd his neat 660 Ténéré, Ian his amazing Electric start SRx, Trevor his immaculate SRX and I brought a tatty GB500.
As for the camping, Rick had secured our area by turning up a day early

I brought my big tent as a mess tent, but the weather was so good all weekend that it was hardly needed. I managed to leave home without the now traditional "big Carrick stove", but everyone managed and my brother Gareth stepped in with his gas BBQ so that we could cook the half ton of bacon that I had remembered to bring.
There were some amazing vehicles at the show, but perhaps the best combination of vehicles belonged to a bloke who turned up in an immaculate 60s Austin camper, towing an enclosed trailer painted and trimmed to match. In the trailer was a 6-cylinder Honda CBX1000 converted into a Mike Hailwood replica race bike!
I did a Google search and I'm not sure if these are the actual vehicles, but they look identical:

As Trevor said I got called to give an interview with Jim Reynolds over the site PA. He asked about Bruce Pollard, but I had to say that we haven't heard from the Ludlow lout for a while. In fact lots of people asked after him all weekend. Where are you Pollard and how are you?
Friday night's entertainment was provided by a rock and roll band in the grandstand bar, but last night a group of us went into town and drank far too much beer whilst being royally entertained by Ronnie and his never-ending supply of stories and jokes. This morning's hangover was ferocious. Talking of this morning, I was sorry not to have said goodbye to Smudge and Rick, I hope you had safe rides home.
It was great seeing some old faces and it was really good to finally meet up with forum users that we hadn't met before. Simmo wandered along today and introduced himself and then proceeded to tell me one of the funniest rude stories I've ever heard. Top bloke, I'm still laughing.
The drive back to South Wales wasn't too bad, despite the obligatory delay around the M6/M5 intersection. bloody knackered now though
