One of those obscure starting problems with a camoflage painted Enfield Bullet Classic 500 Limited Edition machine.

Enfield_Bullet_Classic_500_Limited_EditionInitially, ran but reluctantly responded to the throttle. Then would not start. Ignition turned on and a single pulse was measured from the fuel injection and a single pulse was measured from the ignition, Nothing else!

Checked through the wiring and components, including replacing ECI unit, ignition pulse coil, no apparent fault!

Finally, checked throttle position sensor and "HEY PRESTO"! Disconnected the sensor and the bike started and ran.
As for the fixing of the fault etc. not a clue

and thank goodness the bike isn't mine. If I find out more I will add it to this thread.
Continue to work on the Duke 450 electrics and fittings. Yes, I know I'm slow, but if I go too fast, it could all end in tears and the smell of burning plastic!

Good health, Bill
