Some of you will have seen my venerable Dainese Anchorage jacket, it looks like this:

I bought it in late 1995 and it has been working well ever since, despite once writing off a car whilst wearing it (the shoulder pads allowed me to push back the front lip of a car's roof with my shoulder as I flew into it after impact). It's still waterproof and is really warm.
However, it has started looking tatty and I have always been aware that I bought it a size too large. Imagine my delight when I was talking to an old biking friend the other day and the conversation turned to bike jackets:
JB - "You still have that old jacket then?"
me - "Yep, but it's been in the wars a bit"
JB - I remember you buying it and I was so impressed with it I bought one too at the same time, but I've hardly worn mine"
me - How's it look?"
JB - "Like new... do you fancy buying it, say £50?"
The jacket cost around £350 new!
So, I now have a an exact replacement for the best bike jacket I have ever owned, one size smaller and like new for £50

It's nice when it happens eh?
