Jethro, do you have an idea of why your Beemer lunched its UJ? Was it just the stresses of hauling the outfit or was it something like the ride height being changed? Have you got a theory?
It seems to be an incredibly early failure of such a vital component. Beemers have been the charioteer's tug of choice for years so it is surprising that it failed so soon. Was it a problem that only affected the paralever?
Cheers

UJ and G/box are common failures on the Paralever models.
I changed the rear shock(common mod) to try and relieve the stress on the UJ.
I thought the same Beemers a good choice for a sidecar tug.But talking to some German friends the G/box is a common fault on all Beemers hauling sidecars. The Twin shock and Mono Levers last longest, some more than others.
Airhead Engines are very strong but need the Valve guides and valves replaced every 50k or there abouts(mine certainly did),and the charging system can be a little suspect.
