I wrote in my last post that my bike had passed its MOT, and wishing the weather would improve, well every weekend since its been fine, and I have been clocking up the miles carefully running it in. Yesterday I thought it would be ok to give it some real throttle, and I am very impressed 3 figures 2 up easily, it even went up hill at tick over in 1st gear. It needs a very light touch on the throttle pulling away as the front wheel becomes airborne even at 2000 rpm. The only thing I dont like about it is the steering, the bike is very light with narrow bars, and the taper roller bearings make it weave at lower speeds and the steering is very heavy, so I will change it back to the standard ball races at some point in the future.

Try slackening the taper rollers off just a touch.I have found that if they are a bit too tight bikes can wander about at low speed.

Sounds as if headbearings are too tight.

I tried that today, it lessened the weave a little but the steering is still too heavy.
