XBR500 Exhaust
« on: March 08, 2019, 05:44:22 PM »
Recently bought an original GB500 full exhaust thinking it would be a fairly straight forward fit. Apparently not.The collector box
fouls the right hand frame tube below engine. I took off the old twin pipe mount point but still no joy. Looks like its going to be sold on.
I have a predator system that i hate so i think ill use the downpipes make a new link pipe and fit a classic reverse cone silencer.
The predator can is way too loud for me. I also have a ratty original 2-2 xbr system but that won't fit now i removed the right hand mount point, so that needs selling too. Not been a great day really.

Black widow do a nice stainless two into one set of down pipes if you're wanting to sell the predator system on as a whole. I didn't rate the predator system that was on mine when I bought it, flogged it on and got a complete stainless system made up when I went the cafe racer route. The black widow pipes from memory are £200 . You'd just need an end can, which they Also do separately....hope this helps...  cheers Michael

Morning silver, no not that I'm aware of. The two into one comes as a complete unit, with down pipes and exhaust collets with the link pipe welded to the down pipes. I've bought a set for my "tracker " project and they appear to be of decent quality. Done a dry fit with them and went straight on no bother. Cheers, Michael

Its not as quiet as id hoped but a bit less than the predator. There is some baffles in the silencers but they can't be packed.

Got the standard system on mine which i find quite loud-even with ear plugs! Guessing they were never that quiet back in the day and baffles have probably disintegrated over the last 34 years!
