The Distinguished Gentlemens Rideout
« on: September 19, 2017, 09:18:08 PM »
Started in Australia I believe, and now spread worldwide, it raises money to help combat Prostate Cancer. Its on this Sunday 24th September.
I've just registered for the Belfast one, which I'm going to with a few friends. Apparently you dress up a bit for it. Something I never do, but will make an exception for this Sunday  ;)
Look it up online, as there appear to be ride outs in all cities  :)
So far nearly 70,000 peeps have registered to take part worldwide, with 162 so far in Belfast  :)

Sounds good Tim but I'll be at the Irish Jumbo run in Clonakilty.  See James Hanna is going as well.  Looks like you'll be lucky with the weather up in Belfast.  Sadly can't say that for us down in Cork!

Hi Steve,...Cork you say...Pat & I were down there the weekend before last. We went over to Bantry Bay for a bike meet...on the Guzzi.
We stayed there for first night and the second in Mitchelstown.
That's good run from up North.
Dave.

I'd hoped to do the DGR this year, but a moped ride has taken priority, maybe next year.

Yes Dave, I think it is as far as you can get from my house and still be on the Island of Ireland - a bit over 300 miles I think!

There's a DGR in Chester Dave. You should turn up with the Wirral Wobblers! The Belfast run will have at least 200 I reckon. I've blown the clutch on the J2, so will be on the Armstrong 😉

Hi Tim, one of the Wobblers (Doug on the Sterling) is doing the DGR, When we discussed this years Wobblers events a few of us asked for this Sunday to be free, but Ted, submitted the wrong date to the Buzzing mag, then it was impossible to change after publishing, so we are doing the Weaver Ramble instead this coming Sunday...pity really as I wanted to do the DGR this year as I missed last year.
As I said...maybe next year.
Dave.

Great day out. Highly recommended. We had over two hundred bikes on the Belfast run, which finished at the Bullit Hotel. Plus, I won a meal for two, just for dressing up as a hipster  ;)

I'm sure you didn't have to dress up.  :)

It was the Russian tank commander goggles that swung it. Alison has posted a short vid on her faceache  ;)
Was on the Armstrong. I've recently sold another Armstrong, an MT350, a Rotax engined MZ, and also a the makings of another Armstrong project  :)

Fraid so. Over 5000km on her this summer, but the MT is twice the bike, IMHO  ;)

What you want is one of these Timbo :-

Maybe even rarer than the SilverStar, but knowing you, you'll probably find one next week for a grand  ;)
