Hi folks
Just sold my Harley and bought an xbr on a whim paid £500 for it , its a bit scruffy but engine runs sweetish
Got quite a few plans for it not standard I'm afraid
But I would appreciate advice on how to do a proper oil change if possible ?
Cheers
Simon

Welcome Simon. Good choice of bike, shame you sold the Harley (I`ve had three and love them) but also had three XBR`s and one GBTT over the years. For that price you bagged a bargain by the sounds of things  ;) I`m not to familiar with the mechanical side of things but there are plenty of kind, knowledgeable fella`s on here who I`m sure will help you out. Good luck and keep us all posted on your progress  ;) Cheers, Steve.

Hi

Just bought my 5th XBR in March for £600 in pretty much the same condition as yours i think! The last owner never ever cleaned it but it's coming along nicely now!12 months MOT but mechanically good except for some very dangerous rot at the ends of the swing arm hidden behind the silencers. Please everybody check your XBR here!See previous post about this.I had been up to an indicated 80 mph and i hate to think what might have happened if it let go!Luckily i had a spare which i hastily swapped over thanks to Moto 63.

As for the oil change it's pretty straightforward but the dry sump can lead to issues!I think there are 2 drain points for a start and make sure the filter lines up.Some people like to loosen off one of the oil lines to avoid an air lock but i've never had any problems. You can access the Honda work shop manual on line-there isn't a Haynes or Clymer if i recall.

There are very technically minded folks on here who will give you any advice you need so post away!

One quick question I've just noticed that the tail warning light has come on is this to tell you when brake light bulb has blown ?

Sounds like a good  buy, good luck with it. I never liked them when new, although I considered one back in those days when I had money just sitting one it didn't feel right to me. I just wanted a bigger RS, one of those I might have bought.

Aye tommy,

That looks a bit naughty!  ;D ;D ;D ;D Would you object if I copied the image for my own use?

Thank you for posting. Not sure about the 'jacked up' rear, but it'll certainly turn on a sixpence.  ;)

Forks and rear end from?

Compliments to your mate.

My regards, Bill

I'm liking that.......always thought the RS needs more power to have some proper fun and that looks just the job-although i agree with Bill to an extent about the jacked up rear end- being an old fashioned sort of person!
